Overview

Commercial Roofing Superintendent
Location: Dallas, TX (Greater Dallas Area – based out of Rowlett, TX)
Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried Reports To: Project Manager

A nationally active commercial roofing contractor with strong regional operations is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Superintendent to lead field operations throughout the Greater Dallas area and surrounding states. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who excels at managing crews, maintaining safety and quality standards, and delivering successful commercial roofing projects from start to finish.

The Opportunity

The Superintendent oversees foremen, field staff, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to specification. This position serves as the critical link between project management and on-site execution, with direct accountability for safety, production, quality control, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and support roofing foremen while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
  • Supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure professional installations
  • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, audits, and equipment inspections
  • Identify training needs and coordinate internal, manufacturer, or third-party training
  • Enforce safety policies and jobsite discipline
Operational Excellence
  • Manage daily field operations, scheduling, and production activities
  • Review plans and create site-specific safety and pre-job work plans
  • Schedule materials, equipment, and deliveries while minimizing waste
  • Track labor hours, production rates, and material usage
  • Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
  • Submit accurate and timely Daily Project Reports (DPRs) and job documentation
Quality & Project Oversight
  • Inspect installations for quality and compliance, including destructive testing when required
  • Oversee subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Review job documentation including change orders, RFIs, client updates, and billing accuracy
  • Participate in manufacturer inspections and ensure warranty requirements are met
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, estimators, and office staff
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for customers
  • Provide project updates and address concerns promptly
  • Represent the company professionally at all job sites
  • Deliver project closeout documentation and confirm customer satisfaction
Continuous Improvement
  • Implement best practices to improve efficiency, safety, and quality
  • Support project managers with take-offs, estimating, and document control as needed
  • Maintain accurate project data in CRM and project management systems
  • Participate in review meetings with leadership and project teams
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of commercial roofing experience (installer, foreman, or superintendent level)
  • Proven experience managing large-scale commercial projects (industrial, retail, healthcare, education, office)
  • Experience supervising both in-house crews and subcontractors
  • Experience managing projects ranging from approximately $2M–$10M
  • Strong re-roofing background including recover systems and full tear-offs
  • Experience with multiple systems: TPO, EPDM, PVC, Modified Bitumen, Metal, and Built-Up Roofing
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar software preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • Ability to climb ladders, access rooftops, and lift materials as required
Travel & Schedule
  • Frequent travel between job sites required
  • Travel ranges from approximately 30%–100% depending on project location
  • Projects primarily located in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas
  • Flexibility for occasional weekend work
