24 hour shifts, rotating days of the week.

Reporting Structure

Reports to Nurse Manager. All staff nurses maintain a reporting relationship with the CNO.

Inclement Weather Policy

Required to report to work during inclement weather.

Job Purpose

In this highly technical, fast‑paced nursing position the RN works with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate, patient‑centered care. The role involves direct and indirect care through the nursing process, supervising other team members, and promoting a collaborative work environment. The RN supports Methodist Health System’s mission, vision, and values.

Job Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Additional departmental certifications as required.
  • Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of a Nurse Residency Program.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and nursing standards.
  • Proficiency in handling confidential material.

Job Role s and Duties

  • Provide nursing care and education to patients, families, and significant others.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Ensure accurate, timely written communication of patient information.
  • Administer medication and intravenous therapy safely.
  • Apply the nursing process throughout the care episode.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Standing 20–60 % of time, moving, sitting, bending, and reaching regularly.
  • Minimal driving; handling and lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to blood and bodily fluids, respiratory and skin irritants, and electrical or sharp equipment.
  • Indoor environment, generally neither hot nor cold.
