Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer
, specialized in software integration and lab operations to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Integration, Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located in Roy, Utah
.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan test procedures and execute cyber testing to support verification and validation of system level cyber requirements.
- Provide test data in support of validating system security requirements definition and analysis, establish system security designs, implement security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures.
- Participate in team reviews of technical requirements, system designs and cyber implementation plans prior to deployment of systems, digital communications systems, network protocols, computer architectures, and computer security penetration tools and techniques.
- Provide test data back to the program to better the design of system under test and develop testing use cases to meet requirements and architecture model content.
- Support development of technical decision-making guidance to the Cybersecurity team to ensure timely, high quality product deliveries supporting flight test events geared to meet mission requirements
- Ensure weapon system compliance with all contractually obligated cybersecurity standards and guidance, including but not limited to CNSSI 1253, DoD 8140, DoD 8510, and AFI 17-101
- Ensure weapon system assessments are completed to meet all contractually obligated cybersecurity standards and guidance, including but not limited to RMF and cyber survivability requirements
- Provide input to program milestones and metrics, adhering to cybersecurity-relevant plans and schedules

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science/Engineering, Software Development/Engineering, or related STEM degree field and 5 years of related experience; or a Master's degree and 3 years of related experience .
Note:
9 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. - Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a DoD Top Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment.
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain access to Special Programs as a condition of employment, maintaining Special Programs access will be a condition of employment.
- Must possess a DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher. (i.e. Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Must have hands on experience in one of the following Cyber engineering disciplines: cybersecurity principles, security components , implementation, or testing.
