The ideal candidate will set and drive strategy for a broad set of technical initiatives and be empowered to make decisions that significantly impact annual operating plans (AOP), long-range strategic plan (LRSP) outcomes, and the Technology Roadmap. The Northrop Grumman Fellow is expected to provide scientific, technical, intellectual leadership, as well as analytical support contributing to the advancement of growth goals.

The candidate must also have a strong grasp of campaign execution, networking strategy, and possess the skills, drive, and judgement to successfully interface with senior leaders/technologists across the company and customer community. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector Strategic Deterrent Systems Division is seeking an NG Fellow 1 SDS Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) who will play an instrumental role in developing, evolving, and leading technological strategy in this skill area for the broader organization.

This position will be located in Roy, Utah This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. General responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
The individual in this role will provide technical leadership and direction on Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) for the Sentinel ICBM as well as provide technical expertise and develop GN&C development and maturation strategy for SDS. This position reports directly to the Office of the Chief Engineer. Leadership

* Ability to influence and gain buy-in from key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and successful project delivery. Technical Skills and

Core Competencies:

* Experience in the development, test, and fielding of flight critical systems

* Experience in design and development of flight control algorithms/feedback control systems.

* Experience in developing requirements and verification plans, and negotiations with customer and user communities.

* Designs research and develop highly advanced new applications resulting in new product/business opportunities for the company.

* Proficiency with development of architecture and requirements for a hard real-time system.

* Experience and proficiency with Agile principles, processes and tools, Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), DOORS requirements management, Cameo EA, and the like.

* Proficiency with airworthiness certification criteria (e.g. MIL-HDBK-516C, RTCA DO-178C, DO-254) and nuclear surety standards/requirements (e.g. AFMAN 91-119).

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and 20+ years of related experience; 18+ years of experience with a Masters; 15+ years of experience with a PhD.

* Detailed understanding of Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems.

* Able to lead a diverse team while cultivating a positive work environment.
