Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer
. This position is located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL and supports the Sentinel program.

The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Safety Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability.

• Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
• Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large program’s design.
• Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
• Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
• Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).
• The candidate will have experience in generation or review of design artifacts to support System Safety analyses utilized in maturing weapons system design for safety and support flight test and flight worthiness of complex systems.

• Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
• 2 years’ experience with C/C++, Java, object‑oriented design, or similar experience.

• Experience using MIL‑STD‑882E or similar processes for hardware and /or software design development.
• Execute developed processes in Engineering and Manufacturing Development Phase.
• Software development or coding experience.
• Experience using DO‑178 for design development.
• Experience developing in an Agile environment.
• Model Based Systems Engineering experience.
• Experience developing missile flight systems software.
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certificate.
• Weapon System experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience).
