Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a Director of Sentinel Systems Engineering – Systems Engineering Director 2 in our SDS Division headquarters in Roy, Utah. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Director of Sentinel Systems Engineering – Systems Engineering Director 2Lead the Sentinel Systems Engineering (SE) Operating Unit, reporting to the Vice President of Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT). The Sentinel strategic missile program is one of the largest and most complex system integration projects in history, with hundreds of missiles, hundreds of operating facilities, millions of lines of code, thousands of support equipment and training devices, and hundreds of technical training programs to enable industry and USAF to operate and maintain the system without fail in the most challenging conditions.
A successful SE Director will provide the experience and vision to drive weapon system level engineering and development of the war fighter mission and will have mature judgment to navigate complex technical and program interfaces across NG system segments, the acquisition customer, and various government enterprise partners.
Responsibilities include the following areas:
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A)
- System architecture development and management
- Technical baseline management
- System optimization and trades
- Engineering metrics and data analytics
- Systems engineering process development, execution, and audit
- Parts, Materials, and Process (PM&P)
- Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Cost (RAM-C)
- Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S)
- System safety for hardware and software
- Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S)
- Electromagnetic effects and environments and TEMPEST
- Human Systems Integration (HSI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE)
The System Engineering Director is responsible and accountable for profit and loss (P&L) performance against the program plan, technical performance and credibility of the team, technical competencies developed within the team, and the technical quality of the weapon system products.
