Role& Location
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer Manager 2. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Responsibilities Essential Functions (Managerial)- Promotes the professional development of the Homeroom workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains momentum around employee engagement, inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement.
- Managing and guiding direct report annual goals, performance evaluations, and compensation reviews.
- Ensuring accurate time charging and time‑card approvals.
- Conflict resolution, managing performance issues, and improvement plans.
- Career growth mentoring for a team of direct reports.
- Aligning direct reports to technical roles based on program needs and identifying stretch assignments and opportunities.
- Lead design decisions and provide technical direction on electrical cable designs. Liaison to Command Systems Sub‑IPTs, I&T, and across the weapon system.
- Assist C&L Infrastructure Management and Chief Engineer in risk identification and tracking.
- Provide technical direction and support to hardware and systems engineering teams in the development and documentation of hardware interfaces, including electrical harness design, analysis, and routing. Provide oversight and issue resolution for I&SD hardware during development and test.
- Support Earned Value reporting to management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field plus 8 years of experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM field plus 6 years of experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and an in‑scope investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must be eligible to obtain Enhanced Security Clearances (SAP) and a DoD Top Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
- At least 1 year of proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule in an electrical design organization in a lead or managerial role.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical hardware design, cable‑harness design, and wire schematic development.
- Experience designing cables to IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 specifications.
- Familiar with Siemens Mentor Graphics Capital cable design tool or equivalent.
- Experience with CAD skills for developing wire diagrams or electrical schematics.
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Systems Engineering.
- 1+ years Cost Account Manager and Program Scheduling experience.
- Electrical requirement verification experience.
- Integration and Test development/execution experience.
- Experience leading TEMPEST or EMI efforts with integrated product teams (IPTs).
- Strong CAD skills with experience developing wire diagrams or electrical schematics.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and developing a power budget for an electrical power system of a military or aerospace system.
- Experience developing multi‑discipline system architecture for a military or aerospace system.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
