Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Nuclear Surety Principal Systems Engineer (T03 level) / Sr Principal Engineer (T04 level). This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program.
A Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer has the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a system designed to provide another 50 years of security for this great nation. Nuclear Surety ensures that nuclear weapons are protected against peacetime and wartime threats at all times.
A Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman on the Sentinel program will be provided the opportunity to:
- Performing decomposition of Department of Defense safety manuals into requirements and allocating them to design teams for implementation
- Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of a next generation ICBM weapon system
- Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems
- Evaluate the physical security design based on the Department of Defense Safety manuals
- Interface directly with various compartments of the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems
- Use model based engineering tools on a major weapon system to pioneer a new way to evaluate and analyze modern design
- Learn a niche discipline that spans all aspects of Nuclear Power and Munitions
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04).
Required For Both Levels
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret Clearance. Start date is contingent upon clearance, and must be Active to start
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD
- 1 year of experience with any of the following tools: DOORs, Cameo, Team Center, Code Analysis/Fuzzing Tools
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
- 3 years of experience with any of the following tools: DOORs, Cameo, Team Center, Code Analysis/Fuzzing Tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in nuclear, electrical, or software engineering discipline
- 3 years of experience with development or verification of electrical or software requirements
- Experience supporting a major program event (e.g. SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, etc.) for a DoD program
- Experience working with Nuclear Surety Requirements and the Nuclear Certification process (e.g. AFI 63-125, AFMAN 91-118/91-119/31-108, DODM 5210.41, AFI 91-107)
- Experience and working knowledge of the Sentinel program
