Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Staff Human Factors Engineer - Technical Lead (T05 level), overseeing Human Factors Engineering (HFE) on the Sentinel Human Systems Integration (HSI) Specialty Engineering team. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel Program.
This role may offer a competitive relocation package. What you'll get to do:
* Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of Human Factors activities across the Sentinel program to include User-Centered Design, Error Prevention and Risk Mitigation, Usability Testing, and Ergonomics & Workload Optimization
* Closely coordinate and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), USAF, executive leadership, Office of Chief Engineers (OCE), suppliers and IWO partners to ensure that human performance, usability, and safety are integrated early and continuously throughout the system life-cycle
* Establish key initiatives in support of the organization's strategic and tactical plans
* Closely collaborate with peers and other teams to ensure shared-success
* Coach, support, train, and motivate team members to reach high-performance
* Foster a working environment which reinforces and drives accountability to fundamental Northrop Grumman Values focused on integrity, quality, shared success, and innovation
Basic Qualifications:
* Educational background in psychology, human factors, HCI-related field, or engineering from an accredited university, and at least 12 years of related experience, with a Bachelors; OR at least 10 Years of relevant experience with a master's degree; OR 8 year of relevant experience with a PhD degree
* Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
* 3+ years of
Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment (familiarity with Mil-Std-1472G and ANSI/HFES 100-2007), DoD UI/UX Design Experience
* Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
* 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience
* 2+ years working in requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Past/Active employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems
* 4+ years of Systems Engineering experience
