Sentinel - Principal Systems Engineer - Thread

Principal Systems Engineer – Roy, UT – Sentinel program.

• Become a subject matter expert and technical leader with end‑to‑end understanding of the Sentinel program threads.
• Partner with SEIT leadership and Office of Chief Engineering to develop high‑quality technical baselines.
• Brief program leadership, customers, and stakeholders at program and technical reviews.
• Establish coordination sessions with stakeholders for horizontal and vertical thread integration.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships across program, customers, and stakeholder communities.
• Engage in mentoring and support knowledge transfer and talent development.
• Execute special projects as needed for assigned threads.
• Provide oversight of all systems engineering products related to assigned threads, including:
• Requirements definition and allocation.
• Architecture and interface definitions.
• Functional flows and CONOPS/Operations Scenarios.
• Performance and allocation budgets, analysis, and margin management.
• Trade studies.
• Verification planning and required verification products.
• Verification and validation execution, including authorship of verification reports.
• Solution definition and design artifacts to produce compliant thread capability.
• Integration and test planning and procedure development.
• Risk and opportunity identification and associated execution planning.
• Technical Performance Measure reporting and management.

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience; 3 years with a master’s degree in STEM; or 1 year with a PhD.
• U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance and an investigation within the last 6 years.
• Ability to be screened for Enhanced Security Clearances as required.
• Minimum 2 years experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.
• Minimum 2 years experience in team environments with leadership responsibilities.
• Minimum 1 year experience creating, updating, and maintaining system performance documentation.

• Large‑scale or complex system development experience across multiple program phases.
• Experience with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) tools, practices, and methods.
• Strong understanding of complex engineering systems, standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including high‑value customer presentations and managing multiple projects with competing priorities.

Primary level salary range: $98,400 – $147,600. The range is adjusted based on scope and candidate experience. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives may apply.
