Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Human Factors Engineer (T03 level) / Sr Principal Human Factors Engineer (T04 level). This position is located in Roy, Utah, and supports the Sentinel program. This role is with the Human Factors and Systems Engineering (HFE) team, working on compliance on the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get To Do:
The selected engineer may be responsible for multiple tasks within requirements, verification, and interfaces for the Sentinel program from an FHE / HSI perspective. The engineer may be responsible for performing tasks dealing with interface definition, requirement decomposition, compliance tracking, verification planning and verification execution.
Basic Qualifications
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Engineer level (T-03) or Sr Principal Engineer level (T-04).
Required for Both Levels:
- Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Demonstrated experience utilizing UI/UX design principles
- Experience using Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project and Engineering Scheduling tools or applications
- 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience
- 2+ years working in requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)
- Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 5 years of related experience with a bachelors degree; OR at least 3 Years of relevant experience with a master's degree; OR 1 Year with a PhD degree
- Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at least 8 years of related experience with a bachelors degree; OR at least 6 Years of relevant experience with a master's degree; OR 4 Years with a PhD degree
Preferred Qualification
- Past/Active employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems
- 4+ years of Systems engineering experience
- Experience with any of the following tools and languages: DOORS, Cameo, Teamcenter, CPLM, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems of systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
- Ability to build software prototypes for usability testing of candidate designs
- Experience with visual design of computer user interfaces
- Human Factors, Psychology or similar degree
- Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment (familiarity with Mil-Std-1472G and ANSI/HFES 100-2007), DoD UI/UX Design Experience
- Demonstrated experience with prototyping/wire framing tools
