About the Role
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is hiring a Systems Security Engineer (level
2) or Principal Systems Security Engineer (level
3) to join its team in Roy, Utah and support the Sentinel Program (GBSD).
- Location:
Roy, Utah - Relocation assistance may be available
- Travel:
Yes, 10% of the time - Security clearance required:
Secret or higher - Special Access Program (SAP) approval may be required
- Support the Sentinel (GBSD) program by performing technical integration and lifecycle management for complex systems.
- Maintain supply chain security by assessing suppliers and components in the Common Product Lifecycle Management (CPLM) environment.
- Serve as a key contributor to the CPLM ecosystem, ensuring standardized data structures, parts management, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Align CPLM data with ERP systems to optimize logistics, procurement, and supply‑chain workflows, ensuring "as‑designed" models match "as‑built" reality.
- Utilize JIRA to manage technical backlogs, track sprint progress, and document system defects or enhancement requests.
- Act as the technical liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, and Logistics to resolve data silos and ensure a unified system lifecycle approach.
- Level 2 (Systems Engineer)
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM
- 2 years of applicable engineering experience
- Master’s degree (optional)
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher at time of application
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
- 6 months of applying and understanding Systems Engineering principles applicable to U.S. Government Defense Programs
- 6 months of work or educational experience with tools such as DOORs or Teamcenter (CPLM)
- Level 3 (Principal Systems Engineer)
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM
- 5 years of related engineering experience
- 3 years with a Master’s degree; 1 year with a PhD (optional)
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher at time of application
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval
- 1 year of applying and understanding Systems Engineering principles applicable to U.S. Government Defense Programs
- 1 year of engineering experience in aerospace or defense environments
- 1 year of experience with tools such as DOORs or Teamcenter (CPLM)
- 1 year of applying and understanding security best practices in addressing program protection risks
- Team player, strong multitasking, and ability to generate quality work products independently
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication skills, able to clearly present technical approaches and findings
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) standards within a CPLM framework
- Strong desire to mentor and grow employees
- Top Secret clearance
- Experience developing security requirements for hardware and software assurance
- Experience with risk management
- Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools
- Experience with tools such as DOORs, Teamcenter (CPLM), and ERP
- Solid understanding of Program Protection applicable to U.S. Government Defense Programs
- Familiarity with SSE principles across cybersecurity, counterfeit awareness, anti‑tamper, HW/SW assurance, OPSEC, etc. to protect critical program information (CPI)

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 – $
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 – $
