Northrop Grumman Defense has an opening for a Nuclear Hardness & Survivability Engineer to join its Nuclear Hardness & Survivability (NH&S) team in Roy, UT in support of the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the world's most advanced weapon system in one or more of the following ways:

  • Defining NH&S environments
  • Radiation transport modeling and simulation
  • Radiation effects circuit analysis
  • Ground shock and thermal effects analysis
  • Effects of electromagnetic pulses on electronics
  • NHS qualification testing and analysis of semiconductors
  • NHS qualification testing and analysis of the GBSD systems, subsystems and equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

Required for both levels (T01/T02):

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope (
