Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal System Engineer (T03/T04 levels). This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program.

The selected candidate will join a team modeling high‑level Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Cost (RAM‑C) processes across multiple campuses. This role will focus O&S modeling to support affordable system design over its lifespan. The O&S model uses DoD Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE) framework combining a variety of data sources. This role will support Requirement vs Cost (RvC) and Cost as an Independent Variable (CAIV) analysis for design reviews and major program events.

This position may also include other product‑support related modeling efforts to include Availability, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Life Century Cost (LCC).

• Modeling large systems and finding useful data and trends in large data sets
• A maintenance or logistical background to communicate easily with stakeholders
• Working to mature a model and being comfortable with path‑finding or blank‑page development activities
• Experience with cost‑estimating models similar to ACEIT or SEER (preferred)

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Engineer (T‑03 level) or Sr Principal Engineer (T‑04 level).

• U.S. citizenship with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance at the time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last six years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time.
• Proficiency with cost‑estimating tools (ACEIT, SEER, Relia Soft, or similar) – three years of experience.
• Proficiency with CAIV or RvC modeling – one year of experience.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in cost‑specific modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) – three years of experience.
• Experience with base‑year dollars and understanding of inflation/Net Present Value (NPV) – one year.
• Knowledge of Agile development practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of five years of related experience; three years with a master’s degree; or one year with a Ph.D.

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of eight years of related experience; six years with a master’s; or four years with a Ph.D.

• Active Top Secret clearance.
