Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (level
4) to join its team. This position is in Roy UT, Colorado Springs CO, or Manhattan Beach, CA and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

The selected engineer will be responsible for systems engineering technical baseline maturation to drive successful development and sell-off of systems within the Digital Ecosystem segment. This individual will lead a small team or work with a cross-disciplinary team under the guidance of Lead Systems Engineers, other program leadership, and customer representatives to pursue incremental capability insertions across the Digital Ecosystem. The ideal candidate has experience with model-based engineering, exposure to software-centric systems and digital engineering, and experience with complex systems lifecycle management.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8 Years of related experience with bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years, current and within scope.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• 5+ years of Systems engineering experience throughout the program lifecycle.
• 2+ years of Demonstrated experience in MBSE.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud-based environments, high performance computing, and virtualized environments.
• 2+ years of experience with software or IT-centric systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and partnership/collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated experience in program adoption of digital engineering concepts, methods, and processes.
• Experience with Project Lifecycle Management, manufacturing, and sustainment are a plus.
