Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Special Program Portfolio in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. What You'll Get To Do:
The ideal candidate is a team player; but also, a strong independent contributor with strong leadership skills, demonstrated problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
* Performs research and studies subjects such as rates of return, investments, and financial and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements, balance sheet, and income statements.
* Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.
* Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, and document format for data processing equipment.
* May provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit or division.
* Setup, monitoring, and controlling program costs.
* Estimate at completion and forecast related activities.

• Employee Discounts This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. Basic Qualifications
* Bachelors degree from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant experience, OR a Masters degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR a PhD and 1 year of relevant experience. Four additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
* Requires experience with MS Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
* Requires experience with an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) tool, Business Intelligence & Analytics tool.
* Project Management & Planning tool and/or Collaboration & Integration tools.
* Must be willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
* Demonstrated experience in financial planning and reporting including Annual Operating Plans and Long Range Strategic Plans
Preferred Qualifications
* US Citizenship is required with an active in-scope US Secret Security Clearance (obtained with the last 6 years)
* Experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration.
* Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Experience managing and analyzing project costs
* Experience supporting contracts with EVMS requirements
