Principal Financial Analyst

Job Summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is looking for a Principal Financial Analyst to support the Special Program Portfolio in the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division.

Location:

Roy, UT. Travel: 10% of the time.

Clearance required:

Secret. Relocation assistance may be available.

• Performs research and studies subjects such as rates of return, investments, and financial and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements, balance sheet, and income statements.
• Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management.
• Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering information flow, volume, and document format for data processing equipment.
• Provides analysis on business development and monitors business performance by unit or division.
• Sets up, monitors, and controls program costs.
• Estimates at completion and forecasts related activities.
• Performs miscellaneous financial analysis as required.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 5 years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, OR a PhD and 1 year of relevant experience. Four additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with MS Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Experience with an ERP tool, Business Intelligence & Analytics tool, Project Management & Planning tool and/or Collaboration & Integration tools.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning and reporting including Annual Operating Plans and Long Range Strategic Plans.

• US Citizenship is required with an active in-scope US Secret Security Clearance (obtained within the last 6 years).
• Experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration.
• Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Experience managing and analyzing project costs.
• Experience supporting contracts with EVMS requirements.
• Working knowledge of S4.
