Northrop Grumman seeks a Principal Configuration Analyst (A-03 Level) to join its team in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama. The position supports the Sentinel program and focuses on functional and physical configuration audits for complex hardware and software systems.

Key Responsibilities

A Configuration Management specialist ensures hardware and software systems match approved technical baselines through the following:

  • Manage change control, identify data discrepancies, and ensure product readiness for production.
  • Verify that product design and performance meet functional and allocated baseline requirements, including test results.
  • Examine physical configuration to confirm alignment with build-to or code-to baseline documentation, technical data packages, and Bills of Materials.
  • Transition products from as‑designed baselines to as‑built and as‑delivered states.
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or non‑compliances in configuration data and track resolutions.
  • Ensure all deliverables adhere to contract requirements, software licensing, and export compliance standards.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform Physical Configuration Audits.
  • Ensure product design provides agreed‑to performance capabilities.
  • Validate integrity of product configuration information.
  • Verify consistency between a product and its configuration information.
  • Determine that adequate processes are in place for ongoing configuration control.
  • Provide confidence that product definition information is under configuration control.
  • Perform Functional Configuration Audits.
  • Validate V&V data: review system and software verification and validation data.
  • Confirm all functional and non‑functional requirements have passed test procedures.
  • Review documentation to ensure user manuals, operational documents, and support materials are complete.
  • Approve maturity to demonstrate readiness for transition into beta testing or production.
Basic Qualifications
  • Five years experience with a bachelor’s degree, three years with a master’s degree, or one year with a PhD (additional four years of direct configuration or data management experience may substitute for a degree).
  • United States citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance dated within the last six years and no impediments to a Top Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to successfully screen for Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable time to meet business needs.
  • Direct configuration management or data management experience in a Department of Defense environment.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and CPLM.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Knowledge of EIA‑649 or MIL‑HDBK‑61B.
  • Expert technical knowledge of configuration management practices and scopes of work.
  • Experience with Physical and Functional Configuration Audits.
  • Experience establishing agendas, publishing action item lists, recording meeting minutes, and tracking meeting actions.
  • Knowledge of product baselines and configuration status accounting.
  • Expertise in searching within CPLM.
  • Process change package management throughout lifecycle, including disposition, documentation, and hardware implementation.
  • Experience in understanding drawings and use of CAMEO.
  • Experience performing data management for deliverable CDRLs, non‑CDRL documents, and SDRLs.
  • Experience administering configuration and data management release cycles for drawings, models, and documents, and administering changes using Siemens Teamcenter.
  • Experience using DOORS, Jira, Confluence, and Tableau.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with government counterparts, defense contractor organizations, and cross‑functional teams.
