Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (DS) is looking for a Advanced Programs Deputy Director 1 to join Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Advanced Programs (AP). AP is on the cutting edge of the nuclear triad, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications and other strategic systems. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, Utah.

The Advanced Programs Deputy (APD) will be accountable for every aspect of day-to-day execution under the direction of the AP Senior Director/Lead. The APD serves an integral role in cultivating internal relationships and shaping and nurturing program culture. The APD works closely with the AP Operations lead on program management, office business battle rhythm, and will effectively integrate program demand signals in partnership with Strategic Deterrent Systems Division (SDSD) functional leadership to ensure required staffing, processes, training, and infrastructure are available to efficiently execute.

The APD works closely with the AP Lead to align strategic priorities and tactical tasking, and maintain situational awareness of the programs, IRADs, Captures and related interests. This position reports directly to the AP Lead.

  • Integrated program performance management (cost, schedule, technical, risk & opportunity, quality) to deliver on all contract and AOP/LRSP commitments
  • Day to day contractual and programmatic change management across all aspects of AP activities
  • Integrated program demand planning (staffing, infrastructure, clearances, etc)
  • Support and development of strategic plans
  • Professional development / organization efficiency initiatives
  • Support to profitability reporting and investment planning and execution

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years experience in defense or aerospace systems or related experience as defined below
    • Related experience includes a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions
