Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Associate Project Manager/Project Manager
. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Subsystems Support Contract (GSSC). This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. They review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports. The Project Manager assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client‑satisfaction goals and objectives. They develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Essential Responsibilities:- Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Frequent use and general knowledge of project management industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of project management concepts, and principles. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks. - Problem Solving:
Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. - Discretion/Latitude:
Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy. - Impact:
Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify. - Liaison:
Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects. May make presentations to small groups.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

- Associate Project Manager:
Bachelor's degree. - Project Manager:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; 0 Years with Masters or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance (Secret, Top Secret; etc.)
- Experience in project management/ execution and closeout.
- Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
- Experience planning, scheduling, and managing projects.
- Experience developing content, packaging, and briefing communication to small groups.
- In scope active DoD Secret clearance.
- Knowledge with Earned Value Management System.
- Schedule management, budget management, stakeholder management, and performance management.
- Analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management Concepts.
