Northrop Grumman’s Strategic Deterrence Defense Division is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join as a Manager 3 Environment, Health, and Safety
. This position will report to the SDS Division Director of Safety and Mission Assurance and can be located in Roy, UT
.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EH&S programs to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Partner with the Sector EH&S team to foster a consistent culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross‑sector and cross‑functional teams to integrate EH&S considerations into all aspects of the division’s operations, including product design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
  • Lead a focused team of EH&S professionals to meet and exceed annual goals while operating within an annual budget; drive a culture of achievement, career development, and high performance.
  • Affirm and implement a comprehensive Safety Management System to identify, assess, and mitigate risks and promote continuous improvement in safety performance.
  • Support the company’s corporate EH&S audit program to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate safety and environmental risks across the enterprise.
  • Assess SDS EH&S performance based on enterprise leading and lagging indicators.
  • Drive the “near miss” safety program within SDS, highlighting areas for operational improvement.
  • Lead SDS incident investigations and root cause analyses to identify opportunities for improvement and implement preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of future incidents.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the field of EH&S and proactively recommend and implement initiatives to enhance the division’s EH&S performance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on EH&S performance, trends, and initiatives, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on EH&S matters, providing guidance and support to all levels of the organization.
  • Cultivate durable partnerships across the enterprise, especially with key collaborators within Northrop Grumman’s Legal, Operations, and Supply Chain organizations, in addition to the EH&S‑focused teams within the division.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of EHS experience, or a master’s degree and 6 years of EHS experience, or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain US Government Secret security clearance.
Nice to Have
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing people preferred.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with local, state and/or federal regulatory staff and leadership.
