Sr Principal Software Quality Engineer

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems invites applications for a Sr Principal Software Quality Engineer to support the Sentinel program. The position can be based in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL, and relocation assistance may be available.

Relocation assistance may be available. A secret clearance and the ability to obtain Special Access Program approval are required. Travel up to 10% of the time is expected. The standard work schedule is 9/80.

• Support one or more scrum/sprint teams on the Sentinel or other SDS programs.
• Ensure process execution and efficiencies in development, testing, and release of software deliverables.
• Attend sprint meetings, create Jira dashboards to monitor progress and execution efficiency.
• Offer suggestions for improvement to software leadership.
• Understand process health, progress, and stability metrics as required.
• Become fluent in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Jazz, DOORS, and others.
• Act as a constructive advocate for Mission Assurance and articulate the Value Proposition to stakeholders.
• Ensure Sentinel software complies with industry guidelines and contractual requirements for military weapon systems.
• Maintain focus on employee engagement, teaming and collaboration, process improvement, rework reduction, and continuous improvement.

Basic

• 8 years of experience with a Bachelor of Science; 6 years with a Master’s; or 4 years with a PhD.
• Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, current and within scope.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program approval.
• Experience in developing and implementing Software Quality Assurance plans.
• Experience in developing and using metrics for process health and performance monitoring.

Preferred

• Experience in missile systems/sub-systems design, construction, or sustainment.
• Experience in process monitoring, data collection, analysis, and metric reporting for a large program or supplier base.
• Experience in peer reviews and code reviews.
• Experience in software build testing, qualification, and integration and test.
• Ability to read and understand software code in C++, Java, or Python.
• Experience with enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools (e.g., SAP, DOORS, Jira, Confluence).
• Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology.

Primary salary range: $ - $. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and possible long-term incentives may apply based on position level.

Applicants may be considered for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company performance.
