Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Own or have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Possess navigational skills to read maps, locate addresses within a designated delivery area, and navigate multi‑story buildings and other adverse terrain.
Job Duties
- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area and walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare product according to standard procedures.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Orientation and on‑the‑job training provided.
- Develop communication skills: give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers over the phone and in person.
- Perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) accurately and quickly (calculator may be used).
- Make correct monetary change.
- Use verbal, written and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Coordinate hand–eye movements to perform rapid, precise tasks with speed.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Navigate a delivery area using maps and addresses, including adverse terrain such as multi‑story buildings and private homes, while carrying product.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions during outside tasks such as trash removal and deliveries.
- In‑store temperatures ranging from 36 °F in cooler areas to 90 °F or higher in some work areas.
- Sudden temperature changes both inside and outside.
- Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and fumes from bakery ovens.
- Work in cramped quarters such as walk‑in coolers.
- Potential contact with hot surfaces/tools up to 500 °F or higher.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
- Varying weather and surface conditions while delivering products, driving, and couponing.
- Stand for most tasks; walking surfaces include ceramic tiles and linoleum.
- Walk short distances for short durations; delivery personnel travel between store and vehicle and from vehicle to customer.
- Occasional sitting for paperwork at a desk or table.
- Lifting: handle bulk product deliveries up to 50 lb, 3 ft × 1.5 ft. Lift from floor and stack onto shelves up to 72 in. high.
- Carrying: lift various items such as large cans (≈3 lb 7 oz), pizza sauce (≈30 lb), pizza dough trays (≈12 lb each). Carry during delivery while walking and climbing.
- Pushing: move trays on dollies (24‑30 in. width, force up to 7.5 lb) or pull as required.
- Climbing: occasionally navigate stairs or ladders; during delivery may need to climb five or more flights.
- Stooping/bending: frequent forward bending at waist during pizza assembly and stocking; lasting 30‑45 s repeatedly.
- Crouching/squatting: occasional to stock shelves and clean low areas.
- Reaching: continuously reach up, down, and forward; up to 72 in. high to reach oven controls, change signs, lift from shelves.
- Eye‑hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands, forearms, wrists for dough shaping, cutting, and assembling boxes.
Job Duties
- Deliver product by car to customer doorstep.
- Distribute flyers and door hangers.
- Use of standard tools such as pencils, pens, computers, telephones, calculators, pizza cutter, and pizza peel.
- All tools and equipment used for the job are provided by the company or its approved suppliers.
