Overview
We are supporting a well-established and growing property management & construction organization as they add a Senior Accountant to their finance team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities and supporting leadership with reliable, GAAP-compliant reporting. This is a hands-on accounting role ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, structure, and working closely with operations and senior leadership.
Responsibilities- Maintain day-to-day, monthly, and year-end general ledger activity across multiple entities
- Process accounts payable accurately and on time
- Record cash receipts, revenue, and receivables; ensure billings and collections align with contracts and lease terms
- Perform tenant and customer reconciliations (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
- Prepare monthly accruals, prepaid amortization, fixed asset depreciation, and journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
- Prepare internal financial statements, cash forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses
- Support budget preparation and forecasting efforts
- Maintain vendor records and prepare annual 1099s
- Partner closely with senior leadership, property management, construction, and external CPAs
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Accurate and timely financial reporting
- Clean, well-supported reconciliations
- Strong collaboration with leadership and operational teams
- Proactive problem-solving and continuous process improvement
- Trusted ownership of assigned accounting functions
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
- Property management, real estate, or construction accounting experience required
- Experience working across multiple entities
- Ability to interpret leases, contracts, and job-related financial details
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel (Yardi experience a strong plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication
