Position Overview

The Billing Specialist role is essential for maintaining the financial operations within the firm. This position requires a proactive individual who can navigate the complexities of billing while ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hybrid work environment located in Royal Oak, contributing to a close-knit team culture. Strong knowledge of eBilling platforms and exceptional attention to detail are critical for success in this position.

The role involves direct communication with attorneys to clarify billing inquiries, making interpersonal skills equally important. Candidates should be energetic and upbeat, aligning with the firm's collaborative atmosphere.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000 / Year DOE

Billing Specialist Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review client invoices
  • Process hourly, flat fee, and contingency arrangements
  • Ensure bills are processed by the first Monday of each month and issued by the 10th
  • Communicate with attorneys to clarify billing questions
  • Update bills and status in the Elite 3E system
  • Ensure compliance with billing standards
  • Manage the issuance of approximately 3,000 bills per month, with around 1,000 e‑billed
Billing Specialist Requirements
  • Two years of billing experience
  • Knowledge of eBilling software is required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with other Office applications
  • Law firm experience is preferred
  • Elite 3E knowledge is preferred
  • Experience with LEDES billing is preferred
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred
