Overview
The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan is recruiting a full-time Electrophysiology Specialist. The practice opportunity is at the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital (a 1101-bed tertiary hospital) and Corewell Health Troy (a 530-bed, expanding to 624-bed hospital, also with cardiac surgery). The electrophysiology labs perform the most advanced procedures, including leadless pacemaker implants, His bundle pacing, pulsed field ablation, radio frequency and dual energy ablation, and complex device extractions in a hybrid OR.
Opportunities to participate in left atrial appendage closure procedures are also available.
Physicians are supported by a combination of nurses and RCES-certified cardiovascular technicians. The Royal Oak Heart Rhythm Center (RO) operates 4 electrophysiology labs and offers access to 2 hybrid labs. Ablation platforms include Radio frequency, Cryoablation and Pulsed Field Ablation. The RO campus is in the early stages of a significant EP lab construction project, with the first of 4 replacement labs opening February 11, 2026.
The schedule will include one to two days per week of outpatient clinic and interpretation of Holter/Event monitors and device interrogations. An interest in lead extraction and/ or VT ablation is a plus. There are opportunities to participate in clinical trials.
ResponsibilitiesYou will be an employed physician, with knowledgeable practice management professionals assisting in day-to-day operations and can take advantage of the resources and referral base of the larger Corewell Beaumont Health system. You will be expected to support the clinical research and educational mission of the Medical School. This includes participating in Graduate Medical Education including teaching CVD and CCEP Fellows.
