BC/BE Adult Consult‑Liaison Psychiatrist – Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital

Corewell Health’s Department of Behavioral Health is seeking a BC/BE Adult Consult‑Liaison Psychiatrist.

The Consult Liaison (CL) Psychiatrist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide psychiatric consultation to medical/surgical units and the emergency department for patients with primary psychiatric conditions or psychiatric comorbidities. The CL Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and give recommendations for patients on the respective services, and facilitate referrals for long‑term treatment when needed. This role includes resident and medical student education.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing on‑call and in‑patient psychiatric consultation to medical/surgical units and the emergency department.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for patients with psychiatric disorders.
• Facilitating referrals for long‑term treatment and community resources.
• Teaching and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Participating in multidisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives.
