This Mortgage Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Royal Oak, MI. This role is responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage process, from initial inquiry to closing, including assessing borrower needs, explaining loan products, and collecting required documentation. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and following up with leads, conducting borrower consultations, preparing and submitting loan applications, and coordinating with processors and underwriters to ensure timely approvals.
The Mortgage Loan Officer will clearly communicate loan terms, address client questions, and maintain accurate records to support a compliant and efficient lending process. Collaboration with internal team members and external partners is essential to deliver a positive borrower experience and support the company’s growth.
- Experience or strong interest in working as a Loan Officer and building a career in the mortgage industry.
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage lending practices, or a demonstrated ability to learn these quickly.
- Familiarity with underwriting concepts and documentation requirements, with attention to regulatory and company guidelines.
- Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a client-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple files, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with mortgage technology platforms, CRM tools, and basic office software.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ethical lending practices.
- State licensing as a Mortgage Loan Officer is preferred; non-licensed candidates willing to obtain licensing are welcome.
- Previous experience in sales, financial services, or real estate is a plus.
