IT Project Manager – Royal Oak, Michigan
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate a variety of information systems, systems analysis, and application development projects, with a particular focus on healthcare IT initiatives. This role is hands‑on and requires managing application and operating system upgrades, enterprise system implementations, and HR‑related IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and budgets. The IT Project Manager will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to deliver successful project outcomes in a fast‑paced, regulated healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, comfortable working across multiple platforms and tools, and experienced in both large‑scale and smaller‑budget project management. Experience with enterprise systems such as People Soft and a background in healthcare IT are highly desirable.
- Lead and coordinate IT projects to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop, review, and manage project plans using the Service Now Project Management module.
- Independently manage smaller‑budget projects from initiation through completion.
- Coordinate project activities across technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.
- Consult with users, management, vendors, and technical teams to assess computing needs and system requirements.
- Provide technical coordination and issue resolution in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Support and oversee backup, security, and user support systems as part of project initiatives.
- Participate in fast‑paced application and operating system upgrade projects, especially for healthcare IT systems such as EHRs.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure project success and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Support HR‑related IT initiatives, including implementations and upgrades involving systems such as People Soft.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining strong project governance and documentation.
- 5–7 years of hands‑on project management experience (practical execution required; certification alone is not sufficient).
- Strong working knowledge of PMI‑based project management methodologies and ability to apply them in real‑world scenarios.
- Experience using Service Now Project Management tools.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Charts, etc.);
Microsoft Office is not used. - Experience supporting or managing HR‑related IT projects.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as People Soft or similar platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and production processes.
- Understanding of business and management principles related to planning, resource allocation, and coordination.
- Experience working in healthcare IT environments preferred.
