JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Weld Technician

GENERAL

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for technical, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical support, troubleshooting and repair of all plant welding and assembly equipment.

• installing, repairing, servicing machinery and equipment support systems
• Identifying and trouble‑shooting production problems
• Maintaining production lines and performing predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Supporting daily production addressing downtime expediently resetting faults replacing Sensors, Cords, Caps, shunts, etc. In a timely manner.
• Assuring all automatic nut/stud feeders are stocked verifying correct Part # and free of debris before filling machine.
• Assuring all Sealer/Adhesive is working properly, purged as required and replaced when needed.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices along with all Safety Policies and Procedures
• Comply with all Quality System procedures, assure Red Rabbits are ran and recorded each shift, properly communicate any abnormal event if required to appropriate personnel.
• Ability to understand, record, and communicate system problems and solutions.
• Demonstrate good attendance with the ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays.
• Any other duties as assigned by Managers, Supervisor and/or Leaders to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of products, processes and work.

• Must be able to work in environment with welding fumes from robots.
• Industrial equipment electrical troubleshooting and installation
• A sound understanding of welding fundamentals and theory.
• Robot programming and troubleshooting of the following equipment:
• FANUC and/or ABB, MOTOMAN, NACHI, KUKA
• Demonstrate good problem solving skills
• Able to understand and troubleshoot basic electrical components and schematics
• Can troubleshoot, repair, and install hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems
• Can troubleshoot, repair and program resistance and MIG welding equipment
• Perform basic machining
• Perform required Preventive Maintenance checks & related data assuring any related documentation is filled out properly
• Complete required logs and repair documentation assuring is legible and accurate
• Knowledge of safety lockout
• Work independently
• Execute all job responsibilities in accordance with Quality System requirements.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs., twist, bend, squat, climb, stand and walk continuously in close, confined surroundings.
• Related Work Experience – Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing welding maintenance.
• Minimum Education – H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be able to work mandatory OT as required 6-7 days per week
