We are an all-women’s unit with a diverse population. The GYN unit is a 32-bed unit that provides compassionate and high-quality care for gynecologic surgery, medical, and postpartum re‑admission patients. Our 6ST team is committed to ensuring professional, safe and patient‑family centered care for all our patients and their families.

Scopeof Work
As an RN, you will use the ANA scope of practice and nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient‑family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. You will deliver quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.
You will partner with and utilize patient/family input and goals in planning care and develop teaching strategies for patient/family; you will also document education and learning appropriately in the health record.
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing required.
- Bachelor’s in Nursing required within 5 years if new graduate or nurse with less than one (1) year RN experience.
- Graduates from a non‑accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute‑care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health‑care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer.
- Specialty certification highly recommended within 2 years.
- External candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of a combination of GYN and Med/Surg RN clinical experience and must successfully complete a required competency assessment provided by Nursing Education.
- Internal candidates with less than 2 years of GYN and Med/Surg RN clinical experience must be approved by their current nurse leader and the site Chief Nursing Officer and will remain a unit‑based PRN employee until they reach 2 years of nursing experience.
