Job Summary
Tests, inspects, maintains and repairs the fire alarm, fire suppression and support systems located throughout Corewell Health campuses and offsite buildings. Ensures fire alarm and fire suppression systems meet standards dictated by AHJ's, CMS, State and local Fire Marshals, Joint Commission, and FM Global. Records all findings in detail to satisfy the document review requirements conducted by AHJ's, CMS, State and local Fire Marshals, Joint Commission, and FM Global.
Responsibilities- Conduct an ongoing test program to ensure proper operation of the fire alarm signaling systems and the automatic fire sprinkler systems throughout the Corewell Health campuses and offsite buildings, including smoke detectors, signals, fire doors, water flows, tamper switches and fire pumps.
- Drain down sprinkler systems for updates as needed.
- Maintain and repair the fire alarm, fire suppression and support systems.
- Maintain an ongoing preventative maintenance program to reduce the possibility of false alarms and system malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot and repair any deficiencies found during testing.
- Disable fire detection and suppression systems to allow for completion of ongoing construction projects on the campus.
- Maintain up-to-date as-built drawings for all fire and suppression systems.
- Note any discrepancies found during testing/preventative maintenance.
- Ensure supplies are available for repair or replacement for fire alarm systems and automatic fire sprinkler systems.
- Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment.
- Use tools and equipment appropriately.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2‑4 years of experience.
- CRT‑_CERTIFICATION‑NICET upon hire.
- LIC‑_SPECIALTY_TECHNICIAN_LICENSE‑ upon hire.
- LIC‑Electrician Journeyman State of Michigan upon hire.
- LIC‑Electrician Master State of Michigan upon hire.
- Preferred:
Successful completion of two years of relevant experience.
