What Youll Do

Are you passionate about helping young people build the skills and confidence needed for a successful future As a Youth Resident Life Skills Coach you will play a vital role in supporting youth transitioning from foster care or residential placement into independent living Through mentorship life skills education and daily support you will empower youth to develop the tools they need to achieve independence and long term success This position combines teaching coaching advocacy and supervision within a supportive residential environment where every interaction can make a meaningful difference

Youth Development & Life Skills Training
  • Provide a minimum of four 4 hours per week of individualized life skills education to each youth
  • Teach and reinforce independent living skills including Household management and chores Budgeting and money management Personal responsibility Time management Community living skills
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating responsible and healthy behaviors
Resident Support & Supervision
  • Monitor youth activities to promote a safe supportive and structured living environment
  • Build positive relationships with youth and support their adjustment to program expectations
  • Recognize challenges or behavioral concerns and take appropriate action when needed
  • Report violations of program rules and other concerns to the Team Leader and or Case Manager
Team Collaboration
  • Facilitate and participate in house meetings to review expectations discuss concerns and plan activities
  • Participate in treatment planning and case conferences as requested
  • Maintain effective communication with team members regarding youth progress and needs
Safety & Program Compliance
  • Maintain awareness of youth activities to ensure the safety and well being of residents staff and visitors
  • Identify and report safety hazards maintenance concerns or needed repairs
  • Maintain confidentiality of all youth and program information in accordance with agency policies
What You Bring Education & Credentials
  • Associate degree in Social Work Human Services Psychology Child Development or a related field; OR
  • Minimum of 60 college credit hours in a related field
Experience
  • Additional training in social work social services child development behavioral health or youth programming
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate Compassion patience and sensitivity when working with youth
  • Ability to mentor and guide young people transitioning to independent living
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Understanding of the cultural social and economic backgrounds of diverse youth populations
  • Ability to teach and reinforce basic life management skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic mathematical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Bilingual skills Spanish or another language commonly spoken by youth served are a plus
Additional Requirements
  • Valid unrestricted drivers license with a good driving record
  • Reliable personal vehicle suitable for transporting program participants
  • Current vehicle registration and proof of automobile insurance
  • Ability to navigate stairs and move throughout residential housing environments
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings weekends and holidays as needed
