Description/Notes: To advance academic achievement for Emergent Bilingual students by bridging district initiatives with campus-level implementation. The Multilingual Program Coordinator leads the integration of the one-way dual language model and the ELPS to elevate Tier I instruction, foster bilingualism and biliteracy, and maximize student outcomes. This role collaborates directly with curriculum & instruction, special programs, teachers, and school leaders to sustain a cohesive, high-quality system of curriculum, dual language programming, assessment, and targeted professional earning.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
- Valid Texas Teacher’s Certification
- Bilingual certification/endorsement
- Master’s Degree required
Special Knowledge /
Skills:
- Bilingual and biliterate proficiency in Spanish and English required.
- Expertise in second language acquisition, culturally responsive pedagogy, and effective curriculum design.
- Proven experience implementing and evaluating one-way dual language model, ESL Instructional models, and content based language instruction.
- Ability to analyze student data to evaluate instructional programs and improve teaching effectiveness.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles with experience in designing and delivering professional learning and instructional coaching.
- Skill in utilizing district instructional resources and diverse pedagogical methods to support Emergent Bilingual students.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across district and campus teams.
Experience (Minimum/Required):
- K-5 classroom experience in a Dual Language One Way program
- Instructional Coaching or Campus Leadership experience
- Experience developing, designing, planning, and evaluating curriculum resources
