Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Lab Pack Specialist to join our Lab Services team.
This role is responsible for the safe handling, categorization, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste materials. It ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintains accurate documentation of waste disposal activities, while also interacting with clients, responding to emergencies, and evaluating on-site hazardous materials—including lab moves.
Responsibilities- Conduct onsite evaluations to assess and categorize hazardous waste materials.
- Safely pack and segregate different types of hazardous chemicals and waste for transportation and disposal.
- Prepare and label containers according to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Document and maintain accurate records of waste disposal activities, including manifests and shipping documents.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies regarding waste management processes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous waste handling and transportation.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of waste materials and supplies needed for waste handling activities.
- Oversee the physical relocation of hazardous materials, including packing, loading, transportation, and unloading (Lab Moves).
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations involving hazardous materials.
- Operate a Triumvirate commercial vehicle (Class
C) safely while transporting hazardous materials.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous‑waste industry, or relevant military experience.
- 1‑3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work both as a member of a team and independently.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Skilled in building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre‑employment physical, and drug screening (inclusive of THC).
- Upon employment, participation in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC) is required.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work overtime on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday).
- Willingness to obtain a Class B CDL license.
- The Lab Pack Specialist frequently handles hazardous chemicals and biological waste and is responsible for donning and doffing personal protective equipment. This role is considered safety‑sensitive.
- Prior relevant industry experience.
- Prior successful experience in a customer service role.
- Active HAZWOPER 24‑ or 40‑hour certification.
