Shift: Day

Responsibilities
  • Staff Management and Leadership:
    Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and other RNs, during weekend shifts; assist in scheduling, training, and evaluating staff performance; provide guidance on complex nursing issues and resolve operational or clinical problems
  • Patient Care Oversight:
    Ensure all patients receive appropriate care according to care plans and physician orders; conduct rounds with physicians; monitor patient well‑being and address concerns promptly
  • Administrative Duties:
    Assist in hiring decisions, recommend training, maintain accurate records, and perform narcotic reconciliation at the start and end of shifts; manage inventories and controlled logs as required
  • Safety and Compliance:
    Follow infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and emergency procedures; identify and report unsafe conditions; ensure compliance with resident rights and confidentiality standards
  • Communication and Customer Service:
    Build rapport with patients, families, and staff; communicate effectively with healthcare team members; handle grievances and provide professional support to visitors and residents
Qualifications
  • Current RN license in the state of practice; CPR certification required; additional specialty certifications may be preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing is often preferred
  • Several years of nursing experience, typically including long‑term care, geriatrics, or hospital settings; prior supervisory experience is advantageous
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and critical thinking skills; ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure; excellent communication and interpersonal skills
