Job Description

The Black Horse Pike Regional School District has an anticipated opening for a 10‑month Vice Principal at Triton High School for the 2026‑2027 school year.

Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree.
  • A valid New Jersey Principal's certificate.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in public education, including at least three years as a classroom teacher. Experience as a supervisor, coordinator, or administrator is preferred.
Job Goal

To assist the Principal in providing and promoting the educational well‑being of each pupil by assuming routine tasks essential to school operation.

Performance Responsibilities
  • When directed by the principal and/or superintendent, serves as acting principal in the absence of the regular principal.
  • Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school, maintaining safety and security, and creating, monitoring, and evaluating programs that support the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
  • Conducts parental conferences in pupil discipline matters in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Supervises the preparation of student and teacher schedules, including non‑teaching assignments.
  • Works with department supervisors and faculty groups in compiling annual budget requests.
  • Requisition s supplies and equipment, conducts inventories, maintains records, and checks receipts for such material.
  • Cooperates in conducting safety inspections and emergency preparedness activities; schedules and executes monthly fire drills and emergency preparedness drills.
  • Assumes responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services, including free and reduced lunch services.
  • Supervises reporting and monitoring of student attendance, works with the truant officer(s) for investigative follow‑up actions, and disseminates proper notification to students and parents when high absent rates are present.
  • Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, affording due process to student rights.
  • Organizes and serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains pupil handbooks and/or folders.
  • Assists in the preparation of teacher handbooks.
  • Directs distribution and collection of all school keys, school equipment, and proximity cards.
  • Attends meetings of the Board as directed by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
  • Participates in staff selection as part of a collaborative effort with District Supervisors.
  • Utilizes sound clinical supervisory methods to evaluate staff, make recommendations for improvement, and participate in summative evaluations for non‑tenured (and, if applicable, tenured) teachers.
  • Devises and implements procedures needed to collect data for State, Federal, County, and District reports, surveys, and studies.
  • Assigns corridor lockers to pupils and maintains records of assignments.
  • Remains abreast of developments and innovations in education by reading current literature, attending professional association meetings and conferences, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others.
  • Designs and develops records, reports, forms, and systems of data collection and distribution appropriate to school needs.
  • Organizes and participates in committees or teams:
    School Improvement Committee, School Improvement Panel, Academic Affairs Committee, Drug & Alcohol (CORE) Team, NJQSAC Monitoring Team, Professional Development Committee, Parent-Teacher Organizations, Emergency Management Team, Professional Learning Communities, and other school‑related committees as assigned.
  • Coordinates graduation ceremonies, reviews and approves facility requests, and publishes documentation for effective opening and closing of school.
  • Assists in designing and participating in 8th‑grade orientation, 9th‑grade orientation, and Back to School Night.
  • Fosters good interpersonal relations among students and staff.
  • Attends and contributes to Department Supervisory meetings, sharing shared responsibility for curriculum integration, lesson planning, quality classroom instruction, and opportunities for student learning.
  • Performs other tasks and duties assigned by the principal and/or superintendent.
  • Salary & Benefits

    Salary based on education and experience, per the Administrator Salary Guide, starting at $89,705. Includes health benefits, dental benefits, EAP services, and access to wellness and discount programs.
