Due to continued successful growth, we have a new permanent opportunity to join our Fortem Complex works team at Amplius Housing as a Carpenter Multi Skilled Trade. The role uses core carpentry skills, basic plumbing, and a range of other trade skills including flooring, tiling, and window repairs. The Carpenter Multi Trade will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to social housing properties across Northamptonshire, so travel is essential.
Core hours are Monday‑Friday 8.00 am‑4.30 pm. Work van, fuel card, tools provided. Generous on‑call rota every 6‑8 weeks.
Fortem’s successful contract with Amplius Social Housing Association supports nearly 15,000 properties. This includes repairs & maintenance, voids, complex works and FRA work streams with additional planned works and preventative maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities- Complete carpentry and basic plumbing repairs for all social housing properties in line with specifications and turnaround deadlines.
- Advisory to Supervisor when additional trades are required.
- Work collaboratively with other operatives to complete projects.
- Record and submit accurate data using business systems and electronic devices.
- Provide excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
- Arrange purchase of materials required to deliver works efficiently.
- Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
- Operate within company occupational road risk policies and procedures.
- Use a PDA/Smartphone to update colleagues daily on progress and completion.
- NVQ/City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent in Carpentry, or qualified by experience.
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 5 points) and no recent driving bans.
- Ability to pass a basic DBS check.
- Social housing experience.
