Position Summary:

The ATU Project Specialist position is crucial for the successful implementation and management of a state-wide, multi-institutional research initiative funded by the National Science Foundation aimed to expand Arkansas' research capacity. This position is supported by a three-year award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and is expected to continue through the initial 36 month grant period. No additional renewal is anticipated for the project.

The ATU Project Specialist will work directly with the Director of Research and Sponsored Programs, coordinating day-to-day administrative tasks, keeping multiple project activities on track, and serve as a primary support resource for ATU research initiatives. The Project Specialist will be responsible for working closely with other educational institutions, community organizations, and other stakeholders. The following job description outlines the essential functions and qualifications necessary for the role of the ATU Project Specialist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:
Maintain a timeline and task lists for project initiatives.

Track deliverables and ensure that activities are on schedule.

Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the BUILD activities to ensure alignment with grant objectives and compliance with federal regulations.

Budget Oversight:
Manage the budget, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately and expenditures are tracked accurately.

Marketing Development:
Establish and maintain website, social media and marketing materials.

Data Management and Reporting:
Oversee data collection and analysis to monitor project progress and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and funding agencies.

Community Engagement:
Foster relationships with students, faculty, industry partners, and community members to promote program participation and support.

Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree in communications, marketing, business administration or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proven experience in project coordination.

Proven experience in social media management and marketing.

Proven experience in budget management and oversight.

Strong organizational skills and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with a diverse team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business administration or related field.

Experience managing federal grants.

Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish.

Familiarity with local industry, educational and community partners.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with educational and community organizations.

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:

Ability to sit or stand using a computer with multiple screens for extended periods in an office environment.

Ability to multi-task, take direction, and prioritize tasks effectively.

Ability to navigate around campus and campus buildings to attend meetings, including during inclement weather.

Familiarity with common technologies and software applications used in office administration and higher education.

This position is expected to work on campus, in person, at the College office in Russellville, Arkansas, and travel within the state of Arkansas as needed.
