The RN House Supervisor provides day shift leadership for hospital operations and nursing staff. This role ensures safe patient care, effective patient flow, regulatory compliance, and rapid response to clinical or operational concerns. The House Supervisor collaborates with nursing leadership, physicians, and ancillary departments while serving as a role model for professional conduct and hospital policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead hospital operations and staffing during day shifts
Support patient flow, bed management, and clinical coverage across units
Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to nursing and clinical staff
Respond to clinical emergencies, patient care issues, and operational challenges
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
Assist with patient and family concerns to ensure positive experiences
QualificationsEducation: BSN preferred; ACLS and PALS required within one year of hire
Experience: 4–6 years recent hospital experience with demonstrated leadership skills; prior management experience preferred
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Effective communication, leadership, and conflict resolution abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
