The Nurse is directly supervised and evaluated by the Related Services Supervisor. Active License as a Registered Nurse in the state of Arkansas is required. Preferred experience includes a minimum of two years of licensed nursing experience. Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), BLS Instructor, and certifications in Arkansas Vision, Hearing, Body Mass Index, and Scoliosis Screenings.
Essential duties and responsibilities include providing health assessments and maintaining related records, maintaining nurse office records, observing and screening students per current Arkansas regulations, assisting with physical and other health-related examinations, maintaining office records, supply and equipment inventory, and nurse office professional appearance. The nurse must also develop and implement health care plans for identified individual students, provide direct care and intervention, provide instruction and education to school staff, and communicate routinely with parents, school principals, teachers, health care providers, and supervisors in a professional manner.
