About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Petroleum Geologist to contribute to their exploration and development initiatives in Rustenburg . This hybrid role involves analyzing geological data to identify potential hydrocarbon resources, delineate reservoirs, and support drilling campaigns. You will collaborate with a team of geoscientists and engineers, utilizing advanced geological modeling software and interpretation techniques. This position offers the chance to work on diverse geological projects, contributing significantly to the company's understanding and exploitation of assets within the Oil & Gas industry , with a blend of remote flexibility and on-site collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret seismic, well log, core, and other geological data to define subsurface structures and stratigraphy.
- Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon plays and prospects for exploration.
- Develop and refine geological models for reservoir characterization and resource estimation.
- Provide geological support for drilling operations, including well planning and real-time monitoring.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists on integrated field development studies.
- Prepare geological reports, maps, and presentations for internal reviews and external partners.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in petroleum exploration and development geology.
- Proficiency in geological software (e.g., Petrel, Geo Graphix) and seismic interpretation techniques.
- Strong understanding of sedimentary basins, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
- Experience with well log analysis and core description.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
