Senior Geologist - Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geologist to join their exploration team based in Rustenburg . This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating new prospect areas for hydrocarbon resources within the Oil & Gas sector. You will be responsible for interpreting geological data, developing exploration strategies, and collaborating with subsurface and engineering teams to de-risk potential assets.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of basin analysis, seismic interpretation, and exploration economics, making significant contributions to the company's future growth and discovery success in the North West province.

• Interpret geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon prospects.
• Develop and execute exploration plans, including seismic surveys and exploratory drilling programs.
• Perform basin analysis and regional geological assessments to understand resource potential.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to build integrated subsurface models.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and prospect memorandums for management review and investment decisions.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in exploration geology within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in seismic data interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom) and geological modeling tools.
• Strong understanding of petroleum systems, sedimentary basin analysis, and structural geology.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
