Our client is seeking a skilled Geologist to join their exploration and development team based in Rustenburg . This role is crucial for identifying, evaluating, and developing mineral and energy resources. You will be responsible for conducting geological surveys, analyzing subsurface data, and providing expert recommendations to guide exploration strategies and resource estimation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of geological principles and their application in the mining and energy sectors, contributing significantly to the company's resource acquisition and management efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and data collection in the field.
- Analyze geological data, including core logs, geophysical surveys, and geochemical analyses.
- Develop geological models and resource estimates using specialized software.
- Prepare detailed geological reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with mining engineers and geophysicists to optimize resource extraction and exploration strategies.
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations during field operations in Rustenburg .
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological exploration and resource evaluation, ideally within the mining or energy industry .
- Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Mine Plan).
- Strong understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, and mineral deposit types.
- Experience with core logging, geochemical and geophysical data interpretation.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote field sites.
