About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Geophysicist specializing in Seismic Interpretation to join their exploration team in Rustenburg. This is an on-site position critical for identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reserves. You will be responsible for processing, interpreting, and integrating seismic data to build subsurface models that guide exploration and development efforts. The role requires a keen analytical mind, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with geologists and reservoir engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify geological structures and strati graphic features.
  • Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information to create comprehensive subsurface models.
  • Utilize advanced geophysical software and techniques for data analysis and interpretation.
  • Collaborate with geologists to delineate potential exploration targets and assess risks.
  • Generate high-quality seismic interpretation reports and maps for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to evaluate prospective areas and advise on drilling decisions.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in seismic data interpretation within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, Hampson Russell).
  • Strong understanding of seismic acquisition, processing, and velocity modeling principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate complex technical information clearly.
