• Position: RBE (Rail Bound Equipment) Learner Mechanician / Mechanician in Training (MIT)
• Type: Permanent
• Reporting to: Support Supervisor

We are looking for a motivated RBE Learner Mechanician / Mechanician in Training (MIT) to support the installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of RBE equipment in underground mining environments.

Working under the guidance of experienced Mechanicians and subject-matter experts, the successful candidate will gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to safe, reliable and high-quality equipment performance.

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• English literacy, including speaking and basic job-card writing
• Valid driver s licence (required)
• Basic technical knowledge and ability with tools
• Physically able to work underground
• Understand RBE equipment and products
• Install equipment according to OEM and mine standards and procedures, including cabling, mounting and basic layout
• Complete required documentation, including job cards and installation check sheets

• Install RBE equipment according to OEM and mine standards
• Position equipment according to commissioning documents

• Perform scheduled checks

• Identify, log and report defects and abnormalities
• Replace or report damaged equipment as necessary

• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks
• Conduct repairs as required
• Test and maintain RBE equipment functionality

• Complete job cards and installation sheets
• Record and report daily tasks to the Mechanician or Supervisor
• Record and report equipment failures
• Document faulty equipment with clear fault descriptions
