Permanent Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and self-motivated Diesel Mechanic / Field Service Technician to join our Potchefstroom team. The successful candidate will provide field service support to mining and industrial customers, conducting repairs, servicing, diagnostics, installations, and preventative maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform on-site repairs, servicing, maintenance, and breakdown support.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drive trains, and related equipment.
• Remove and install engines and machine components.
• Conduct pre-use inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain communication with supervisors and customers.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain effective housekeeping and environmental standards.
• Plan and organize jobs efficiently.
• Represent the company professionally on customer sites.
• Be available for standby duties, overtime, and after-hours breakdowns.

• Qualified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic.
• Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience in mining, construction, or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Field Service experience required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans.
• Experience with Cummins, Deutz, Caterpillar, Perkins engines, and more.

• Forklifts, Telehandlers, Yellow Machines, and more.

• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with good planning skills.
• High regard for safety, quality, and workmanship.
