Solar PV Installation Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and dedicated Solar PV Installation Technician to join their expanding team in Rustenburg . You will be directly involved in the hands‑on installation of solar photovoltaic systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients, playing a crucial role in the transition to cleaner energy solutions. This position requires a practical, hands‑on approach and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

You will work closely with project managers and electricians to ensure seamless installation processes and client satisfaction, contributing directly to the company's mission of providing sustainable energy access in the North West province.

• Install solar photovoltaic panels, mounting hardware, inverters, and associated electrical components according to design specifications and safety standards.
• Perform site surveys and assessments to determine optimal placement and configuration of solar arrays.
• Connect solar systems to the grid or battery storage systems, ensuring proper electrical connections and grounding.
• Conduct post-installation testing and troubleshooting to verify system performance and identify any issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures while working at heights and with electrical equipment in Rustenburg.

• Proven experience as a Solar PV Installation Technician or a similar role in electrical installations.
• Strong understanding of solar panel systems, inverters, batteries, and electrical wiring.
• Familiarity with South African electrical regulations and safety standards for solar installations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints , schematics, and installation manuals.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for site visits across North West.
