Telecommunications Field Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Telecommunications Field Engineer to bolster their technical team in Rustenburg . This position involves hands-on deployment, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure across various client sites in the North West province. You will play a key role in ensuring network reliability and customer satisfaction by addressing technical challenges directly in the field. The ideal candidate is adaptable, possesses strong technical acumen in telecom systems, and is committed to delivering high-quality service and support in diverse field environments.

• Install, configure, test, and commission telecommunications hardware and software at customer locations.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to network connectivity, voice systems, and data transmission.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on telecom equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
• Collaborate with the network operations center and support teams to elevate and resolve complex problems.
• Maintain accurate records of all service calls, repairs, and equipment installations using company systems.

• Proven experience as a Field Engineer in the telecoms sector.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including VoIP, cellular networks, and fiber optics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment relevant to telecom hardware.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
• A valid driver's license and the willingness to travel within the Rustenburg region and surrounding areas.
