About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join their growing team in Rustenburg . This hands-on role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our client's telecommunications equipment and infrastructure across various customer sites. You will be responsible for installations, maintenance, and repairs, providing essential on-site support. The ideal candidate is adept at problem-solving, possesses strong technical aptitude, and is committed to delivering excellent customer service in the telecoms industry.
This position requires extensive travel within the designated service area, offering a dynamic work experience.
- Install, commission, and test telecommunications equipment at customer premises.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative servicing of network hardware.
- Diagnose and repair faults on telecommunications systems and associated equipment.
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repair requests to minimize downtime.
- Provide basic technical support and training to end-users on equipment operation.
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and inventory of parts and tools.
- Technical qualification or relevant trade certificate in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role within the telecoms sector.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, including fiber optics, cellular networks, and radio communication.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
